Mr. Ewing is a tax partner with a broad range of experience in the corporate, partnership, international, tax credit and leasing areas representing clients in a wide range of business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of business enterprises, spin-offs, complex partnership investments, and structuring for a wide variety of US inbound and outbound transactions. Moreover, Mr. Ewing has assisted numerous clients in the tax audit and controversy area, involving tax credit, leasing, REIT and purchase price allocation issues, including one case, which was successfully tried before the U.S. Tax Court.
Mr. Ewing represents clients in the energy area in a wide variety of transactions, including partnership investments, financings, leasing transactions, and acquisitions and sales of energy related assets. He represents investors in a broad range of tax credit transactions, including synthetic fuel, renewable energy, coke, new markets and affordable housing tax credit transactions.
Mr. Ewing is a graduate of Washington and Lee University (B.S. Business Administration and Accounting, 1986), University of South Carolina School of Law (J.D., 1989), and University of Florida College of Law (LL.M. in Taxation, 1992).
Mr. Ewing is a member of the American Bar Association (Tax Law Section), the State Bars of Georgia, Florida and South Carolina, International Fiscal Association and Atlanta Tax Forum.
