Matthew M. Liss practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation. He has litigated a broad range of cases in both federal and state courts. Mr. Liss has experience representing companies and individuals in various litigation matters including contract disputes, business torts, commercial real estate, construction law and bond claims, fraud, securities law, shareholder disputes, warranty claims and employment litigation.
Mr. Liss is admitted to practice in both the State of Georgia and the State of Illinois. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association (Business Law, Healthcare Law and Taxation Sections).
Prior to joining Marshall & Lueder, Mr. Liss was a partner in a large Atlanta law firm. He previously served as in house general counsel for a regional medical equipment provider. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1991 with dual bachelor's degrees in Accounting and Finance. In 1994, he received his Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University, School of Law. Concurrent with his Juris Doctorate, Mr. Liss earned his Master’s Degree in Accountancy (1st in his class) from Southern Illinois University College of Business and Administration.
